| GonzotheGreat | Apr 3, 2007 8:07am | | I'm from the UK, so here goes - some smart alec in the UK Publishing Industry thought, 'Hey, how can we save money?' The sad answer was to cut editors, in droves - which is ludicrous, now writers have to be editors, there are less people to read your work and now holidays temps, students, and secetaries are being asked to find the next big thing. Now I'm not calling this group, they do a great job and a badly paid job, so why on hell should they alsoget lumbered with scripts from all over? With no time, no impetus to read them the slush piles grow my cousins, the slush piles grow... |

It is sad that the quality of editing help for writers is going downhill. Like most writers, I can't afford to hire a professional editor to fix my work up for me. I have to do all the revision work myself. Seriously, it irritates me just a bit to know that some writers bypass that by paying someone else to do it. |
